Steps

1. Discuss the process with your son and why it is important to administer injections on a daily schedule.
   
2. Choose the appropriate location--either the thigh or the buttock.
   
3. With the boy watching, properly fill the syringe with the prescribed medication.
   
4. If you are giving the shot in the buttocks, remember to alternate sides daily and inject only in the top quadrant of the buttocks.
   
5. If you choose to give the shot in the thigh, alternate sides and administer on the side.
